Welcome to our CaringBridge. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Three years ago Gail found out that she had relapsing mantle cell lymphoma, a rare and very aggressive cancer. She had a small growth on her eyelid and a routine biopsy found that it was malignant. A few weeks later she found out that the cancer had metastasized to her stomach, spleen, and digestive tract. She started chemo in August, 2015 and by January, 2016 she was in remission for a year and a half.  In October, 2017 the oncologist told her that the cancer had returned. Unfortunately, the treatments that Gail underwent this year did not make her cancer free. However, she was recently admitted into a clinical trial in Houston, Texas where she and her husband will spend the next month staying at MD Anderson Hospital. She will have to go back to Texas multiple times a year for the foreseeable future. She will be the first woman in the trial (woot woot) and the prognosis is good, however there can be some serious short term side effects. Her daughter will be staying in the hospital with her for 10 days at the end of May. Both her daughter and her husband will provide updates during the clinical trial. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
