About this time last year, Emily was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer (Stage 1, Grade 1).  Emily had a hysterectomy to remove the tumor which was contained and after much angst and trepidation she was given a clean bill of health. It is hard to understand how she went from that to where she is now, 10 months later.  As of Wednesday, November 13, she has been diagnosed with metastatic endometrial cancer after spending 9 days in the hospital for back pain.  For a young woman who works as a personal trainer, played Division 1 tennis at UNC-Asheville, and has an overall healthy lifestyle; this news comes from left field.  As an example of her grit and determination, she used to run up and down all the stairs at the Rose Bowl in order to prepare for the tennis season.  She is strong but will need all the support she can get in this lopsided time.  We will provide updates here as Emily takes on this challenge.
