Welcome to my CaringBridge website. Myself and my family are using this to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your words of hope and encouragement as I am going through this battle.

On August 31st mom noticed a lump on her right side of her neck. She then went to the urgent care on September 1st to have it checked out. There they told her that she needed to have a biopsy done as soon as feasible and visit her primary physician- Dr. Valentine. That Tuesday she went to Dr. Valentine's office where he scheduled a CT scan that same day and blood work and x-rays.  A second CT scan was ordered as other areas were noticed and they wanted the chest area done.

After that we played the waiting game for a while as insurance and results were getting figured out. Ultimately it was decided from what was found on those scans that a surgery to remove one of her lymph nodes would be the best way to determine a biopsy. This happened on September 20th. Mandi, dad and Savanna were able to be there for her for that. She was sore for a bit and ended up with a drain tube that was removed at her surgeon's (Dr. Paul) appointment on the 25th. This is where the official diagnosis was heard the first time- Hodgkin's Lymphoma Disease. First appointment with the oncologist the next day the 26th.
