Most say "it's the most wonderful time of the year". Unfortunately, that is not the case for my beautiful niece, Taylor Kervin. Taylor has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Osteosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that occurs in children and young adults.
The good news is the cancer has not spread anywhere else in her body and it is treatable!
Taylor will undergo a very intensive chemotherapy treatment that will begin Tuesday, December 20th, 2016. She is being treated at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She will be staying at the hospital for 3 - 5 days for each chemo treatments. She will then go home for 2 to 3 weeks to rest up. The first round of chemo will last for the three months. After the first round of chemo she will have surgery to remove part of her femur bone, which will be replaced with a rod. After surgery she will have an additional 6 months of chemo.
Our family is asking for love and support for Taylor to show her that she is not in this fight alone. Please feel free to call, send a text or message her to let her know you are thinking of her. In addition, the travel and medical expenses have already begun to add up. Any donations to help Taylor offset the cost is MUCH APPRECIATED!!! Stay tuned..... More updates to come on her long journey ahead.
