Hi everyone, I wanted to have a platform that would make it easy for everyone to have updates!  I will not only be giving updates but I will be sharing my journey with you through the ups and downs as I believe will help me stay strong through it all!!

As I  just wrapped up my first year of teaching and was starting to relax a little during this summer break, life took a turn and a new journey for a BIT has started.
Saturday, June 18th, I went to the hospital for heart palpitations. I was then sent home after my heart rate went down and I was going to be setting up an appointment to see a Cardiologist. On Tuesday, June 21st, I received I phone call from my doctor telling me that I needed to go back and get more blood work done as there were some concerns. The doctor did mention that there were a few levels that were high..which could be potentially Leukemia. My amazing Aunt Nicole, was the one that ] told me after looking at those levels and showing them to a few doctors..that I should head to the hospital immediately. After more blood was drawn during that time, I was then told that I have AML Leukemia. I was also told that I would be here for up to 4 weeks and that chemotherapy would be starting very soon.

I am BEYOND grateful that I listened to my body and went in on that Saturday because I wouldn't have known any of this. I say it's a blessing I had blood work done for heart palpitations as that got me in right away having no symptoms and being able to catch it early.

My main goal  through it all is  to stay as strong and positive as possible! God has a new challenge for me to defeat and I am ready!

 I WILL GET THROUGH THIS!!!!
Many people have been asking if they could send me cards. Below is my address for those to be sent. NO FLOWERS on my unit.
