My Story (a brief history) - January 2016 I had my first brain surgery for what turned out to be a Glioblastoma (GBL) Grade IV. Then the adventure began! 6 weeks of Radiation & a year of Chemo to fight to keep the tumor away. The Physical Therapy (PT) & Occupational Therapy (OT) adventure to regain as much mobility as possible given the damage done to the part of my brain that controls much of my left side was ongoing (I tossed off the wheelchair, walker, & cane thanks to many hours of retraining).
Fast forward to May 2017 (last round of a year of chemo) Good news I get to have MRIs every other month for a year or until something shows up to tell us the tumor is growing again. July - Good, Sept -Good, Nov -Good (I am half way there and sliding into the 2 year anniversary of the 1st surgery on January 13). The 2 year cancer-vasry is special because I was told only 25% of folks make it this far in their adventure. I was making plans for trips & volunteering to help others that have just begun their fight against this truly unforgiving beast of a cancer.
January 16, 2018, The results of January's MRI brought all of that to a halt. I knew it would happen someday, was just hoping it would have been a bit further down the road.
