On Saturday, April 17th, 2010 we were dealt the devastating news that our beautiful then-five year old daughter, Tara, has cancer.  We were completely sucker-punched by this, as we thought we were dealing with a simple digestion issue.  Nothing could have prepared us for the doctor telling us that the reason she was constipated is because she had a belly full of cancerous tumors.  Her diagnosis is Stage 4 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare childhood cancer.

Tara is an identical triplet.  She has two sisters, Dayne and Dru, and two big brothers, Cameron (10) and Ty (8) who need her to get better.

Tara spent two weeks at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She had surgery to biopsy her tumors and bone marrow, had a port placed, and began her aggressive chemotherapy treatment which she will be receiving weekly until April, 2011.  On July 26, 2010 she had surgery to remove the remaining tumors, then in September she endured 5 weeks of daily radiation treatment to her abdomen.

Tara has been an amazing responder to her treatment, and an inspiration to all of us who get to see, through her, what true courage and strength are.
