Tammi Moen

          In early October, Tammi was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.  Though several questions remain as to how her treatment plan will be approached, early discussions with the awesome oncology team at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital indicate that her condition is very treatable.


          Based on previous experiences of other family members who used Caring Bridge for my mother's accident/recovery, we decided to start another one to allow a "one stop shop" for anything/everything related to her treatment, future prognosis, ways to potentially help, etc.  This particular website is privately held, with both her and I as the primary managers - individual invites are being sent to family and friends.  Our goal with this site is to publish updated journal entries on a regular basis as they come up in order to keep everyone informed, and avoid some of the work that comes with keeping dozens of family, friends, co-workers, and so forth up to speed.  Her treatment will likely span at least into early spring of 2017, and there are likely going to be lulls in information simply because there has been no change.  If nothing new is posted, rest assured that is because we're in one of those lulls in the action and have little to report.


          While this terrible disease is certainly scary, again the early prognosis from the doctors is very optimistic.  Tammi has placed a great deal of the burden of this process on her faith in God to be with her every step of the way, and in her loving family who as always steps up to help whenever and wherever they can.  As her treatment  starts to unfold, we humbly ask that you keep us in your prayers - while also giving us the necessary space to get through the difficult steps before focusing on updating everyone.
