Emily and Tommy Tade The Tade Family Journey

First post: May 3, 2018 Latest post: May 18, 2018
In the last week, our family has received horrible news twice over. After going to the emergency room to help with what she thought were herniated discs, my 37-year old sister Emily was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Even before all this, my dad Tommy had been having trouble breathing. After getting Emily to MD Anderson, we checked him in as well, where they ran tests and found Small Cell Carcinoma in his lung.

We are still in the early stages of determining the extent of Dad’s cancer, but we’ve gotten some good news in that Emily’s  leukemia does not seem to have spread past the bone marrow. My mom, brother, and I are staying strong for their sakes, and we know they are in the best place in the world for treatment.

Please read through our website for ways to offer support. I’ll try to provide regular updates as to progress and developments. At this point, we ask to keep physical visitations at a minimum as both Emily and Dad are starting chemo and their immune systems will be in a fragile state.
