Sylvia Staus Sylvia Staus' Procedure

First post: Aug 1, 2018 Latest post: Aug 6, 2018
Sylvia was born with something called a pectus excavatum. It's where her sternum/breastbone is sunken in. She will be going through something called a Nuss Procedure which means she'll get a metal bar placed inside, across her chest, to push out her sternum. The bar will be taken out about 2-3 years later with same day surgery. Sylvia will be in the hospital for about a week and then she'll go through another couple months of recovery.
