Dear Family and Friends. As many of you know , I am scheduled for a hysterectomy on Jan 30 at U of Penn because I have a big fat tumor on my left ovary.. While it is suspicious for cancer, the surgeon will not know for sure until he gets the pathology report during surgery. I am feeling surprisingly ok now - just a little nervous about the recovery process.. I will be in the hospital about four days and then spend a few days at a friend's house.. Hope to return home to my cats and plants on Feb 8 when another friend will stay with me for 4 days. We will keep you updated on this Caring Bridge web site which will relieve me of multiple calls and emails.. After Feb 11, I may need some folks to drop in and help me with stuff I can't do yet. But one word of caution.. DO NOT MAKE ME LAUGH Everyone I know who has had similar surgery said it takes several months to be able to laugh pain free.
