10-18-16 This is Andrew. I'm happy and privileged to be here with her on her birthday as we set this up to keep everyone informed of her healing and progress. 


 Early September 2016 Suzanne was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. She found a very talented and compassionate group of doctors to help her beat it. She's been in chemotherapy since September and we're too early in this treatment process to report any results. There have been some frustrating complications that followed. First, there was a fluid build up on her heart that required hospitalization and draining. She's past this complication and continuing to push through her chemo. Secondly, on October 16th she suffered a moderate stroke and hospital staff and family is supporting her as she continues to improve following this setback. As of October 18th (her birthday), they are predicting hospital release on the 19th with a stay planned at local rehab facility. 
 Tom has been an absolute rock of emotional & physical support. All of the Swift/Feay kids I are very grateful that he is here with her every day and night. Our distance is a frustrating challenge in times like this but Jen and I are happy we can both be here on her birthday. There's a bunch of great quality family and friends in Suzanne's life that continue to make major contributions through direct support of her and Tom's healing mission.  Toms' children and their families have been a constant presence and Suzanne is lucky to have their continued support physically and emotionally. Special mention also goes to the whole highland view crew. If you haven't met this bunch, you should. One of the best and most helpful group of caring and selfless neighbors I think I've ever seen.
