The Good: The pandemic helped us slow down, get some sleep and listen to our bodies. I finally saw a doctor about a heartburn problem.

The Bad:  Unfortunately, he found a large, long-standing tumor in my esophagus. It is malignant. Different oncologists have called it Stage 2 or Stage 3. I have named it “Covie”.

The Ugly: For the next 12 months or so, we will be engaging everything that's out there, chemo, radiation, immunotherapy, surgery and a lot of faith to make Covie and any of her relations disappear from my system.

The Good: The PET scan showed that Covie has not spread to any other parts of my body. The oncologist thinks it may be a 5 year slog, but my intention to live to 100 is not yet out of the question.
