My name is Jess and I'm creating this site for my mother-in-law, Susan, at her request. She was diagnosed with Stage 1 Pancreatic Cancer on March 19th, 2018. She had a suspicion that something was wrong after she fell sick in July of 2017 and ended up having her gallbladder removed. She ended up having an endoscopy in March after the lingering symptoms and then a CAT scan. This was what determined the cancer. On the CAT scan, they also noticed spots on her lungs. The doctors aren't sure if these spots are also cancer or something else. She starts her first round of chemo tomorrow, April 9th. She will have the chemo every other week for two months. If the spots on the lungs go away, they were indeed cancer and the doctors said she will have up to a year with us. If the spots remain, they were not cancer and she has up to five years with us. She has already lost a considerable amount of weight and has health issues on top of this, including Lupus and Sjogrens. We spent yesterday with her and she is in good spirits and ready to tackle this. We will keep you up-to-date on her progress, as she is not on the internet much. We can relay messages or well wishes to her, too.
