Two years ago, Susan began seeing a pulmonologist for a chronic cough and shortness of breath. They learned then that she had a fibrous lung condition referred to generically as interstitial lung disease. It was diagnosed tentatively last summer as sarcoidosis, but a more recent diagnosis is pulmonary fibrosis. She was doing reasonably well carrying on with normal activities until Friday, December 9. She began having severe shortness of breath that weekend and was on oxygen by the following Wednesday. By the following Tuesday, she was unable to maintain an adequate oxygen level at home and was hospitalized at Missouri Baptist hospital for 8 days. Since coming home, she's continued on oxygen 24/7 and getting accustomed to a new normal in her life.
Susan has a positive attitude about her situation trusting God for His steadfast love and faithfulness and for providing wisdom going forward.
