As some of you may have heard, I have been diagnosed with Stage 4, Metastatic Breast Cancer, in my liver.  It most likely stemmed from my cancer 3 years ago but was undetected from all tests and exams.

I will begin treatments soon. The first step will be some testing, and a port will be placed on me.  This is the normal method for medicine to be administered.  After that, I will have chemotherapy for 6 months then I will continue antibody therapy indefinitely.

At this time, I feel normal other than some aches and pains but manageable.   While I'm shocked by the diagnosis, I am determined to fight this as long as I am able.  I want to spend time with my family and friends and enjoy every day.   It's important to me that everyone stays positive and we focus on the good things daily.

This cancer is treatable and for that I am very grateful.  To be blunt, life expectancy on average is 5 years.  I know everyone will be wondering so I'll just rip that bandaid off.  I may be able to qualify for a clinical trial and if so 2 different medicines will be added to the chemo treatment.  They will fight the cancer more and they've had success with it.

This site is a place to update everyone  as I can and is the easiest option to share.  I say that because  I'm blessed with so many friends and family who I love so much. Everyone reaching out the past few days has humbled me.   You can leave comments here and I will try my best to respond.  If I don't see them I'm sure Michael or Roxanne will let me know.

Im grateful for each of you.

Susan
