Welcome to Susan's CaringBridge website. Susan is the heart of her family, a pillar of her community, and so very loved and appreciated by all who know her. She shows up to life and to community and to anything that makes the world a better place, freely contributing her wit, wisdom, and helping hands wherever needed. Susan was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2018. A cancerous mass was surgically removed in September. Throughout the fall and winter of 2018/19, Susan has been receiving chemotherapy, along with some alternative therapies. These treatments, while necessary to treat her cancer, have not been well-tolerated. She has been in and out of the hospital with severe complications from her treatments.
We are using this site to keep family and friends updated, and to organize the support Susan and her family need in one place. Susan has the support of a wonderful family, many close friends, and an extensive community....but as she is known to say "it is going to take a village" to get her through this and back on her feet physically, emotionally, and financially.
