Susan started this journey in December when she discovered a blood clot in her leg.  She started taking blood thinners and began to experience stomach discomfort and indigestion.  We all thought this was a reaction to her medicine. However, after changing medicine with no relief, a CT scan was ordered.  Her primary doctor immediately referred her to an oncologist.  After a biopsy of the liver last week, the oncologist confirmed on Monday, Feb. 17 that she has pancreatic cancer.  She received her port on Thursday and will begin an aggressive chemo cocktail on Monday.  In true Susan fashion, she is facing this challenge with a positive outlook, concern for everyone around her, and super-human strength.  My sister is amazing!  Sammy has been her rock during this time.
