After initially presenting with symptoms of pneumonia, Susan (Susie/Sooz) has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Specifically, she has Primary Mediastinal Large B Cell Lymphoma (PMLBCL). She was released from Stamford Hospital in Connecticut on Wednesday evening after a week's stay following cardiothoracic surgery last Friday to relieve pressure on her heart.

Please check in with Susie via this page and send all your love, prayers and good thoughts to support her, Kevin and Nora. We will do our best to keep you updated on her progress and treatments through this site.

Her physicians at Stamford Hospital are continuing testing on the biopsied tissue and she will have a PET/CT scan on Saturday, 10/15. Next week, there are various follow up appointments and she will see the hematologist/oncologist. We are also working on arranging an appointment at Memorial Sloan Kettering for a second opinion.

Susan and Kevin  would benefit from a steady flow of assistance and  encouragement. They have a great support system in family and friends near and far. It's all hands on deck at the moment and will continue to be over the next 6+ months. Your prayers and positive vibes are priceless but we know many of you want to do more. You may send cards and/or drop off meals to their home at 59 Elm Tree Place, Stamford, CT 06906. As we learn more about her treatment schedule, we'll likely be seeking assistance with daycare drop-offs and pickups, possibly driving to appointments, and keeping Sooz company at home during down times.

Sooz is the sweetest, most caring woman. She is a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, friend, and a blessing to all who know her. She has many angels, including her mom and dad, overseeing her through this battle.

We love you Sooz, Kevin, and Nora.
