Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Susan. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. We greatly appreciate all your prayers, thoughts, support and words of encouragement.
Thank you for visiting. Susan, Steve, Evan, Kendall and Chris.

I have chosen a word for this season of my life. The word is DAYENU (pronounced dye-a-new)
The following is taken from Tyler Staton's book "Praying like Monks, Living like fools"
During the Jewish Passover, the Israelites traditionally sang a gratitude song called Dayenu.  Dayenu means " it would have been enough." I once heard a pastor offer this translation: "Thank you God for overdoing it."
Dayenu prayers sound like "God, lunch today would've been enough, but you provided me with resources to choose the type of food I wanted to eat and options to pick from."
"God, lunch of my choice would've been enough, but you created a world of flavor and spice and culture to make food more than fuel - to offer it as artistic and delicious."
"God, a delicious lunch of my choice would've been enough, but you gave me a coworker to share conversation with over food." Thank you God for overdoing it." That's Dayenu.
This is the word that expresses the abundance I am experiencing during this new journey in my life. The past several weeks I have felt Dayenu through every single health care professional I have encountered throughout my diagnosis and through the love and support of my wonderful family and friends. Thank you all for giving me this special gift of Dayenu.
I Love You, Susan
