HAVE NO DOUBT

I am writing this sitting at Mayo Phoenix waiting for Susan’s biopsy procedure.

For those who know Susan in the least, you may have suspected or heard that she is an angel. For those who know her well have proof that she is an angel.

On the afternoon of Wednesday June 5 we met with a surgeon to schedule a surgery to have Susan’s gall bladder removed. The surgeon told us that they will check at that time about the obstruction and we can followup for a procedure to address that at a later date. We were a little confused as to why we would not get full diagnosis and address everything at once. They said they don’t do that and that this is procedure that needs to be done. Susan expressed concern and question possible pancreatic issues and surgeon assured us no issues with her pancreas. Too young, not a male and that is not what’s wrong.

We left and Susan had been talking to sister Nini about all of this. Nini said that did not sound right and had us send her all the results. Nini reviewed with a wonderful surgeon in NH and when we woke up Thursday June 6, Nini had told us to go to ER. The surgeon in NH contacted surgeon in Az and that we would connect with him immediately.

We went to ER around 11a on Thursday 6/6. We checked in, and based on what we had been instructed to do, they thought things were odd and they decided to do complete workup, ultrasound, CT Scan, bloodwork, etc. By the end of day Thursday 6/7 we were diagnosed with a tumor on the head of pancreas. We were discharged and went home.

Friday 6/7 we started calling at 7:00a and scheduled appt with:

surgeon for 6/13
special CT scan on 6/14
Followup 2-3 weeks after

Saturday evening 6/8 Susan texted Oncology Doc Eshun she works with just to discuss what going on. He spoke to, prayed with and calmed Susan for over 1 hr. He instructed us to not go to County and that we must go to Mayo. He said he would reach out to his friend at Mayo and would get back to us.

On Sunday 6/9 mid day Dr Eshun texted to see how Susan was doing and also fwd email chain from multiple Mayo docs. At 10:42p on Saturday night Dr Eshun sent his email and throughout Sunday morning multiple docs in the chain replied, gave direction and instruction on what we will do.

On Monday 6/10, before 7a, the scheduling manager called Susan, sent her email instructions and said we would be going in this afternoon for special labs, consult and tentative plan.

On Tuesday 6/11 we had special CT scan for pancreas

On Wednesday 6/12 we are having endoscopy for ultrasound, explore and needle biopsy.

What cannot be denied is the fact that Susan is/was surrounded by angels and it is only through divine intervention and guidance that we are here right now. In what would be less than 72 hours after diagnosis, we have an action plan from the best that Mayo has to offer specific to Susan’s condition. Less than 24 hours after the plan we were in and meeting with Mayo docs.

We cannot control what happens to us but we can control where we put our faith and trust.

Our angel Nini was guided by her God given knowledge, talents and most of all the Holy Spirit to know something was not right.

Our angel Dr Eshun comforted Susan, prayed for Susan and calmed Susan and he also was guided by the Holy Spirit and God given knowledge and talents to work in the background, after hours and when we literally could do nothing he put together an action plan that can only be described as divine intervention.

In summary, God knows all things. We are simply suppose to put our faith and trust in him. He does not promise we won’t have troubles, but he does tell us:

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?””
