In December 2012 Sue was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer.  To fight the tumors in her liver and colon Sue was given a round of chemotherapy.  She had surgery in March of 2013 to remove the tumors from her colon and liver and then had five more months of chemotherapy.  In August of 2013 cancer was detected in her lungs which then began more chemo.  In February 2014 the cancer had returned to her liver.  Sue had surgery to remove the right lobe of her liver followed by surgery in March 2014 to remove nodules found on her right lung.  The surgery on her liver was successful and the cancer was removed.  Today Sue is battling colon cancer in her lungs.  She has exhausted the traditional chemotherapy treatments offered at Froedtert.
Sue is excited to report that under her doctor's recommendation, she is now a part of a clinical trial that began in March of this year.  She is part of an immunology study - not chemotherapy.  Sue is receiving an infusion every other week and is taking an oral drug twice daily.  The hope for this trial is that Sue's own lymphocytes will be strengthened and will recognize and attack the cancer and stop its growth.  She will be receiving a scan every 8 weeks.
Sue's faith in God continues to guide her on this journey.  She thanks Him for the many blessings she has received along the way.  Sue also asks for continued prayers from her family and friends as she puts her trust in God and His will for her life.
