Sandi Schmidt Support For Sandi

On March 25th, 2016 Sandi Schmidt suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke of unknown cause. She was visiting her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter in Klamath Falls, Oregon. It was a fun and joyful day full of laughter and love. Sandi showed absolutely no signs that something was wrong during her visit. On her way home about 40 minutes outside of Klamath Falls, she complained that she was dizzy, and everything went downhill from there. She was rushed to Sky Lakes Medical Center where it was discovered that there was bleeding in her brain. She was then life-flighted to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR. It was originally thought to be an Aneurism, but after more testing in Bend, an Aneurism was ruled out. They also ruled out an AV malformation. At this time, we don't know why this happened. We feel so blessed that she is getting the absolute best care. She has one of the best neurosurgeons available Dr. Kent Yundt. Currently, Sandi is in critical condition and is in a medically induced coma. They tried to wake her up a little today, but her blood pressure is too unstable. At this time, any kind of stimulus raises her blood pressure. On a positive note, when they tried to wake her, she opened her eyes a little and responded correctly to commands. They are getting another CT tomorrow morning. Hopefully good news. We can't begin to express how much we appreciate everyone's love, support and prayers. Please pray that her blood pressure will stabilize so she can continue to hear.
