Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
On July 11, 2017, Marsha was admitted to the San Antonio Regional Hospital CCU with a very high fever. We originally thought it was just heat exhaustion. While this may have been a contributing factor to getting so sick so fast, it became apparent that she had some sort of serious infection.
After a spinal tap on July 14, the doctors diagnosed viral meningitis. We are hopeful that within 10 days to 2 weeks the virus will run its course. Until that time, she remains in critical condition, and is not able to receive visitors.
This is very hard news for our family. We are struggling with our own emotions as we try to advocate for her best care in the hospital. While it is often difficult to ask for help, we know that Marsha is well-loved, and that it makes others feel good to do anything, no matter how small, to help her and her family, so we are reaching out here for support.
We appreciate your support, prayers and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you.
