On August 13th, 2020, Esther DeGeus suffered a serious stroke on the left side of the brain caused by a very large ruptured aneurysm which resulted in brain bleeding and substantial neural damage. For the past seven weeks she has been in a coma under hospital care and our care, showing minimal progress for neural recovery and rehabilitation. Last weekend our family made the decision to bring her home from the hospital to try to give her better care at home, with the help of family, friends, and minimal nursing staff (including some Hospice care). She is settled at home awaiting either God’s miraculous healing in the next few days or His invitation to go home to be with Him.
Elders from Esther and Duane's church came on Wednesday, September 30th and prayerfully anointed her with oil and prayed according to James 5. Our family, being strong believers in God’s miraculous healing powers are looking for His guidance us on how to care for Esther best, and what our next steps should be as we anticipate what God is going to do through her and in her.
We would like to extend an invitation for visiting Esther and/or prayers with her and/or us, or any ways you want to server or feel led (or maybe you only have 5 min and just want to stop in to see her - we would love that). You can contact her oldest daughter Megan Lallathin at 407-756-4731 to give a heads up you are coming or her husband Duane - 407-227-0041 (although he is a bit harder to get a hold of at times with the influx of messages that he receives!).
