Joe Tully Sun in the Middle of Rain

First post: May 3, 2016 Latest post: Nov 20, 2016
Joe was diagnosed with ocular melanoma (eye cancer) on November 13, 2012, which is a very rare form of cancer - only about 2500 people in the US are diagnosed with it annually. He had 5 surgeries in 2013/2014 to treat the tumor in his eye, which ended up with successful results. A little over three years later as of May 2016, we discovered that the ocular melanoma has metastasized to his liver. This type of melanoma is so rare, that it can be difficult to find the best treatment options. It is related to cutaneous (skin) melanoma, but the cell structure of ocular melanoma is a little bit different. Ocular melanoma accounts for about 5% of melanoma cancer. We are using this site to share our story.

A fund has been set up at Edward Jones for anyone wishing to help support the Tullys with expenses related to Joe's treatment and associated travel. Checks can be made out to either Edward Jones or Joe and Meg Tully and mailed to Edward Jones at PO Box 775644, Steamboat Springs CO 80477. If you write the check to Edward Jones, please make sure to include a note on the Memo Line that it is for the Joe Tully Family. Thank you.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV
