In August of 2008 I experienced some unusual bloating and abdominal pain which was quickly diagnosed as Ovarian Cancer.  The moment you hear that word your life changes forever.  I was very fortunate to have surgery quickly and recovered with no additional treatment.  Stage 1B allowed me to continue with my life but I have to admit, I always wondered and worried.  Fast forward to 2018, almost 10 years later, I again experienced some strange bloating, abdominal, and hip/leg pain.  In addition to high blood pressure (which was also new for me) something seemed off.  Thankfully I was able to see the doctor and had a CT Scan on Good Friday.  The news hit me hard and sadly my mind went to a dark place, but I knew I had to do something to fight this!  Although it was late in the afternoon I was able to schedule an appointment with a Gynecological Oncologist at the University of Minnesota for the following Thursday.  After that visit I had a biopsy which confirmed the cancer has returned, but thankfully the PET scan does not indicate the disease has spread.  I am currently in countdown mode to see the doctor again on Monday, April 30th.  They told me they have a "Plan" so please stay tuned.  Thank you to every one of my family and friends who have supported me as far back as 2008.  You have been such a blessing and all I ask for is continued prayers.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
