This is Sue's story, told by me, Deb her sister:

Friends and co-workers,

I  wanted to take a brief moment to let you know that Sue has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  I know it’s hard to believe. What started out as a routine mammogram is now Stage 3 cancer.  Ladies, if you do not have 3D mammograms done please consider this as if Sue had not had a 3D this probably would not have been detected. Sue underwent surgery for a full mastectomy on Monday, September 17th. She did wonderful through the surgery and is recovering now.  She will see an Oncologist on Tuesday, August 14th and will have a full body scan on Thursday, August 16th.  From there it will be determined what treatment plan she will need to do.

We ask at this time if you could please communicate with Sue through this Caringbridge site to give her time to heal and to work through this process.  We appreciate all the calls and your love and support but want to give Sue the time to heal. Please be patient with Sue as she start this unexpected journey. With the support of friends and family, our goal  is to fight and overcome this disease with plenty of years together down the road. We  strongly encourage lots of prayers and words of encouragement Thanks for taking the time to read this and we will keep updates coming so that you know how Sue is progressing.  Feel free to share this site.
