Stuart went into the hospital Thursday, June 15th with severe pains. After admission and evaluation, they identified a severe case of aspergilloma. This led to a post obstructive pneumonia and many more problems including sepsis and respiratory failure . It is still unclear how he contracted this fungus.
After 24 hours, he was admitted to ICU, and shortly after put on life support to assist with his breathing and help his lungs fight the infection.
This past week was very difficult and doctors/staff have asked that we share updates weekly due to the ups and downs of this type of condition. We are encouraged that he is becoming more stable, so we can build on this progress.
