I have been diagnosed with ampullary carcinoma, which is in the pancreas/biliary tract area. Fortunately, it is the most curable/treatable form of pancreatic cancer. It was caught while still a small tumor, and it will be able to be removed, using what the surgeons call the Whipple procedure. CT scan showed no metastasis, which is a huge plus. Surgery is scheduled for October 26 at UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA. I may or may not need radiation/chemotherapy afterward, based on tissue testing done when the tumor is removed.
I'm looking forward to getting this bugger out of me, and continuing on with my life!
