Stewart Smith

In mid-January 2017, Stewart was first diagnosed with throat and tonsil cancer.  Its taken a month of visits back and forth to the ENT, Internal medicine, catscans, biopsies, petscans, radiologist, oncologist at West Clinic to prepare him and get his treatment schedule lined out. He will begin treatments of chemo and radiation Monday Feb 27. Radiation will be 5 days a week for 7 weeks (or 35 treatments, whichever comes first) and chemo will be every Tuesday.  The doctors say the first couple of weeks he won't notice much change, but after that, he may lose his taste buds and throat will start hurting from radiation, and he will have to go to soft foods or liquids. Prayers needed for his continued strength, radiant complete healing in recovery, and that he can achieve his goal of going with his 2 sons on the 2week Scout camping/hiking trip to Philmont in New Mexico in June.  Will keep you posted as he gets thru his treatments.
