Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. For those who don't know us:

A Brief History...
In 2008 life was going along pretty good.  My husband, Steve, who is a truck driver, had his own business hauling cars.  We had lived in our home for 15 years with our two kids who were teens . Life was full of plans and dreams for our future. That same year, a routine health physical to renew his CDL license revealed a problem with his kidney. Our reality changed radically. Steve was in renal failure.  He went from driving the country delivering cars to driving to dialysis 3 times a week.  He endured the loss of his business, our home and our mental and financial security. In short, the bottom fell out.
The Present Reality...
Eight years later and Steve is still driving to dialysis.  Most days this leaves him suffering from extreme fatigue, nausea/vomitting, and depression. Through the grace of God he manages to make it home from dialysis. Then all he can do is sleep until the next morning.  A kidney transplant for Steve has not been as quick as it is for some. There have been some restrictions involved with the selection of a donor that has made it very hard to find someone suitable. Steve is unable to work so the financal strain is real since he was the main breadwinner for our family. Can you image how he must feel?
A Light in the Distance...
A donor has been found! This is a time of real joy mixed with a dose of bitter herbs. The doctors discovered a mass on Steve's right kidney that could be cancer. So they will remove that whole kidney to test it.  If it is cancer that will mean a longer wait for a transplant of possibly two years.  If it is not cancer, then the wait might be just two months.
To God Be The Glory...
Nobody goes through something like this alone and comes out of it whole.  We are blessed to have the greatest family and friends. The encouragement and help that we have received has spelled the difference in too many instances to name. Steve and I have had people on every side to hold us up. . Without you we would fall. We are deeply appreciative to you all and we're grateful that you continue to be Jesus' hands and feet for us.
With love,
Tanika
