Steve Schrader

The outpouring of prayers, love and support has been nothing short of amazing and has truly touched my heart.  I thought it might be best to create this Caring Bridge for Steve to keep everyone updated on his progress as much as I can.

Here is a summary of Steve's journey.  Steve has been in the Covid ICU at Nebraska Medicine (NM) since Saturday evening, April 4th, and is on a ventilator.  Steve has battled asthma his entire life and this horrific virus has attacked his lungs.  He is in critical but stable condition.  I can't be with him but once a day the nurses hold the phone to his ear and let me talk to him so he can hear my voice.  I tell him how very much I love him, how much his family and friends love him and encourage him to keep fighting because I know he can beat this.  They have him in a prone position (on his tummy) quite a bit which seems to help his lungs.  X-rays showed a slight improvement yesterday for which I am very thankful.  He's on extensive ventilator support and is in an induced comma. Steve's daughter Brittni sent up pictures of the family to hang in his room.
