Nope got word MAYO is not what it was.

At this point we are leaning towards MAYO clinic.  Thinking we need a  coridinated approach.  The Drs this week are great but,  we need a one room team.

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mid November Steve had noticeable problems swallowing.  Random  what we thought reflex. December he had an appointment with our primary care dr. He told me they swapped his throat and said nothing wrong and were not even going to send it to lab.  Our ear nose and throat guy was gone until after New Years......ear and throat guy told him after two visits he did not have cancer but some muscle was not working.  Had a surgery date set up with some pre surgery stuff to be done first and by the way have an upper GI done.
Last Wed I was called to come into the  faculty dr wanted to talk to me.
(I was on phone with my mother and just told her we had been asured it was not cancer. ) Boom. World changed. I knew then it was bad. As I was in parking lot I rushed in. Dr was gone but Steve said it's cancer.
Next morning in Dr Weisen's office he told us the prior two Drs missed the boat at least twice. That after noon Steve started radiation. It was emergency as he could not swallow anything.
Day three he can swallow. Steroids and two radiation. Monday Scan to find size and stage.  Will plan from there.
