Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
Steven was diagnosed with Stage 3b Metastatic Testicular Cancer in April, 2016. After some intermittent pain since January of the same year, followed by some localized swelling, he was seen by his primary doctor who sent him to a urologist for further evaluation. An ultrasound was done at the clinic, which found a mass in one testicle. Surgery was performed in early April to remove the testicle and send it to pathology for testing. The results came back that he, did indeed, have testicular cancer. A CT scan was scheduled and quickly completed to search the rest of his body for any areas of metastasis, as the type of testicular cancer he has, embryonal carcinoma, is very prone to metastasis. Unfortunately, more bad news was received when it was found that he also has some masses in his lungs and in the lymph nodes throughout his abdomen. Steven is currently undergoing out patient chemotherapy which will likely be followed by surgery to remove some/all of the remaining masses and then possibly followed by further chemo. It is going to be a long and hard battle, but his doctors are confident that he can beat it and be cured. We are relying on God to provide full healing through the doctors and their treatments. Thanks for visiting and thinking of/praying for Steven and our family.
