On February 15, 2016 Dad went in for an ultrasound of his gall bladder because he was having some pain in that area. The following day he was told that the ultrasound revealed that he had a mass behind his stomach and lesions on his liver. Ten days later, he went in for a CT guided biopsy of his liver. At that appointment the doctor explained to Christine and Dad that the CT scan showed multiple lesions on his liver that looked to have metastasized from his pancreas and that it was highly suspicious for malignancy. On March 4th, Christine and Dad met with an oncologist who confirmed that he has Stage IV pancreatic cancer that is not curable, but treatable to extend his life. The next week was filled with appointments to prepare him for chemotherapy including an additional PET scan. On March 11th, his oncologist went through the results of the PET scan and showed us the images of the cancer including the additional area in his shoulder and hip bones. Chemotherapy begins today, March 14, 2016. Many of you know that he had spinal surgery in May 2015 and he is still dealing with the residual effects with some difficultly walking. Dad's sense of humor and spirit to fight are alive and well. We hope to keep everyone updated here as well as invite you to encourage him
