Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Steve's journey started August 6th when he woke up and said something was wrong.  We went to Iowa Methodist ER and all test results were normal.  We left with a follow up to his general doc and a referral to a neurologist.  On August 12th, he woke up again not feeling well.  Around 8:30 a.m. Barb took Steve to the hospital again, but this time to Osceola.  Osceola transferred him to Des Moines after his CT scan was abnormal.  He was very confused and could not have a conversation.  In Des Moines, he started to fail tests for Stroke, so the assumption was the MRI would confirm a stroke.  On August 13, 2019 we were told the MRI came back showing a mass and multiple lesions on his brain.

The oncologist and neurologist disagree on if the cancer in the brain is primary or secondary, so a PET scan will determine the next steps.  Until then, we are asking for prayers.
