Stephen Ray Harriger departed this life on May 14th, 2022, peacefully in his sleep while anticipating a fishing trip with his son. If you knew Steve at all, dreaming of catching “Walter” was exactly how he would have wanted to go. He was a larger-than-life presence both in stature and in storytelling. If you were seated next to Steve, you were guaranteed some good stories about cars and fishing, usually involving either his dad or his children. He was a family man always. Steve was a member of the Lafayette and Erie community for 40 odd years, running his shop most days, always willing to lend an ear to both your car problems and your life stories. He was patient, generous with his time, big hearted and well liked, except by telemarketers whom he yelled at with great regularity. He leaves behind his broken-hearted family, his beloved wife Carol, his mother Dolores, his daughter Audrey, his sons Joel(Amanda), Cory(Michelle), Tim(Cheryl), his brothers, Jim, John, and Eddie, and his grandchildren and cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends.
