On May 7, 2018, while at a Twins/Cardinals baseball game in Saint Louis, Steve suffered from cardiac arrest. A fall occurred resulting in a fracture to his skull which lead to bleeding in his brain, and triggered a stroke. A perfect storm. Fortunately there was a doctor nearby who responded immediately and the EMT’S arrived within 90 seconds. Steve was ambulanced to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO, where they immediately placed a stent. He is currently in stable condition but has suffered physical paralysis on his left side along with limited speech. The Barnes-Jewish staff has worked tirelessly to help ensure he is comfortable and preparing us for the possible long road ahead. Brenda has temporarily relocated to St. Louis during his recovery.
