First post: Sep 20, 2019 Latest post: Oct 18, 2019
On the morning of September 14, Steve fell off a ladder at work and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Soon after he had a seizure and was medivac’d MedStar Washington Health Center where he remains in the ICU. He was placed in a medically induced coma and after multiple scans showed increased pressure during the first 48 hours, doctors performed surgery to relieve the pressure. The trauma is on the left side, frontal lobe, the back and a little bit in the middle. Cognitive, memory, personality, behavior is all unknown. Doctors advised this going to be a day by day process. As of September 18, his vitals were holding strong and he was weaned off all medication. The had begun for Steve to come out of the induced coma, which he did a couple days later. As of September 25, Steve has continued to make positive progress, including being removed from the ventilator and starting to respond to instructions and questions. As of October 11, Steve Blamer was transferred to NRH Rehabilitation to start his rehab in full force to obtain his maximum recovery! Reference  the Journal for more detailed updates.
