Two years ago this was our story. It feels SO long ago and NOT so long ago. Steve hit the two year mark and ALL MRIs, CTScans, scope and blood work are clear!!! We are blessed and incredibly grateful and thankful for each and every moment. Steve will continue this routine until yr 4. Then move to a 6th month check. Year 5 he will be able to say REMISSION.His remaining kidney has stayed at 46% function, stage 3. This is positive in the fact that these numbers have not declined. He will continue to visit his nephrologist every 6 months indefinitely. Steve's heart took a bit of a beating with the chemo and of course having it completely stop. They continue to monitor that as well. Sometimes he goes in and his blood pressure is normal. Other times, it is WAY too high. We celebrated his life and our moments big and small, with a quick get away to one of our family favorite spots, Mount Princeston. We will FOREVER remember this experience. The bad. The heartbreak. The terrror, The unknown. The fight. And The LOVE you all showed Steve and the three of us. Each day is a blessing. We have had 760 more days than we thought we would ever have 2 years ago when Steve's heart stopped after his radical nephrectomy. They have not been wasted! We continue to pray for healing and health. We hold our faith as a foundation of surviving this storm.
