Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

On Monday,  (5/28) Steve, Dawn, and Anabelle went to work out at Main Street gym, which Steve does often.  Steve was doing a leg press and fell to the floor and started seizing. Anabelle called 911 and the others working out grabbed the AED machine to shock his heart.   He was shocked twice and administered cpr.  The ambulance came and took them to St. Joseph Hospital.

Steve went to the Cath Lab and it was determined that he did not have any blockage but that he had a weak heart muscle.  They did not know why though.  He was taken to  ICU where he will remain.    His CT scan came back with no problems.

It was necessary for them to intubate and to keep him sedated to protect his brain and heart.  In addition, they are keeping his body temperature at around 97 degrees to ensure that no fever develops, which would make his heart work harder.  So he is resting and sleeping calmly,  and they will gradually begin to wake him up over the next few days.    They will start tonight at 7:30.

The  ultimate goal will be for him to  walk out of the hospital with a defibrillator and be better then ever!

Thanks to everyone for the love, support and prayers!
