Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Most of you know that Steve has been sparring with Stage 4 colorectal cancer for approximately 16 years. He has had surgeries for this and malignant melanoma as well as squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue...... along with weekly chemo. He has been left with neuropathy of his legs up to his knees along with his hands which has been extremely hard for him to accept. About 3 months ago we were told he had exhausted all the current chemo treatments with advancement of his lung, liver and other lesions. He tried for two clinical studies; he did not qualify for those and made the decision to give his body a break and stop all treatments.
He is now on home hospice getting relief from his pain and weekly visits from his hospice nurse. We are living one day at a time and will enjoy the time with family, resting with the lovely Miss Clementine Rose on his lap....thank you LisaPie for rescuing her and many others. Steve's brothers will be visiting from Chicago soon and my sons are taking good care of us and Steve's pride and joy his yard. Please know that you have all been very important to us and I know you will keep us in your prayers. Feel free to comment and I will update you on any changes.
