Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Below is a message that Stephanie sent out summarizing what has been going on with her health battle.

"Friends, so many of you have been asking for updates on my health and I know some of you may not even been aware of the health battle I have been facing the last several months, so by request here is the update.  
I started seeing doctors in in January/February for what I believed to be pneumonia, but unfortunately, that was not the issue at all.  The doctors have discovered a tumor on my trachea.  Due to the size and positioning, the tumor has started to close off my esophagus, nearly blocked the SVC (which feeds blood to my heart from my upper body and brain), and has completely blocked my right pulmonary artery eliminating blood flow to my right lung.  
Over the next few months, I will face a couple of surgeries.  My first surgery scheduled is to completely remove my thyroid to help stabilize my heart  for the second surgery that I really need.  I am waiting for my final assessment; however, it appears that due to the blockage of my pulmonary artery, I have lost my right lung. The second surgery will be to remove the entire right lung, removal/reconstruction of the SVC, and attempt to reduce the tumor from my esophagus, if at all possible. The second surgery is a major and somewhat risky surgery.  It has been overwhelming to say the least...BUT the God within me is bigger than the giant before me!  
I am praying for a miracle and complete healing.  I know that God created this body is fulling capable of putting it back together.  Until that time, I will continue with the guidance of the physicians and surgeons.  Please pray for healing, wisdom, and for God to get the glory in every area of this situation. "
