Stephanie Lewis, devoted wife to Dave, and mother to two darling daughters (Ellie - age 5 and Marley - age 9, going into 4th grade at Johnnycake Corners ES) has been battling some mouth and jaw pain the last several months. After seeing a couple of dentists and being diagnosed with TMJ, Stephanie's jaw pain persisted. She saw another doctor and after getting a 2nd opinion, she went in for a biopsy on Wednesday, May 24th. On this day, Stephanie received the shocking news that she had advanced mouth cancer. This coming week Stephanie will undergo a 10 hour surgery to have a large portion of her tongue removed, as well as some lymph nodes in her neck, and have her tongue reconstructed. After the surgery, Stephanie will undergo radiation and possibly chemotherapy if her team of doctors believes this to be the next step. Stephanie is one of the strongest women I know, and she has a heart of gold, so we are certain with her strength - and your support - she will kick cancer's butt!
