Stephanie’s story,

Where to start? I’ll go back to about 2007. One night I got all settled down for sleep and I felt my heart like do a flip flop a couple times and then stopped doing it . My thought was that’s weird.I started having signs of health going wrong. I was a walker for exercise worked at Curves for women and worked out often, I thought I was pretty fit not perfect but healthy. My walking started to take my breath away especially when I would go up hill or up stairs. At that time we had no medical insurance.
My husband had been on an off work and it got worse in 2008 with the crash in the economy. So we didn’t go to the doctor. My health started to change I was wheezing and coughing a lot. I thought maybe it was allergies but I never have had any. 2009 It started to worry me so I went to the doctor he checked me out listened to my lungs then took x-rays . Found I had a shadow over my heart which means I have an enlarged heart and recommended I see a cardiologist to see what has caused this.

August of 2009 I went to Hawaii for the first time, it was great and very hot and humid I stayed inside the resort most the time or in the near by lagoon. Went snorkeling for the first time ever and I ran out of breath really fast so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would of liked to. My legs swelled up to the point it was really uncomfortable so after doing tourist stuff I needed to get off my feet. Needless to say I was kind of miserable my time in Hawaii.

When I got back I made an appointment with a cardiologist it was a month out. 2wks after I made the appointment I ended up going to the ER. I had a bad nights sleep the night before with a dull ache in my chest that never went away. I went to work my usual shift 5:15am still had the dull ache. I did my workout but did it very slow or I would get out of breath. I’ve Had the ache before and worked out the ache went away but not this time. At the end of my shift I told the lovely Jenae about it she said go home and call the doctor he sent me to ER. The news was I had clear arteries clear veins no blockage anywhere. They to this day don’t know what caused this it has a long name that I don’t remember. In short Heart failure never gave me a time line just said they can treat it and keep me a live for a long time with meds and defibrillator Pacemaker.

I always thought I was going to die at 50 for some reason. Instead life as I knew it died. Ended up loosing my home my family and moved in with my sister which saved my life I truly believe I would of died years ago if Allyn and Denise would not of got me out of my home. Yep . I’ve lived with her now for going on 9 yrs. What a Blessing it has been. I have a great church community and friends at Calvary Chapel south east Portland. Allyn’s home is a beautiful place to spend my days.
God is Good all the time, and all the time God is good!
