In June 2015, while on vacation with my husband, daughter and grandson, we were in a significant car accident.  Though there were no serious injuries, the air bags deployed hitting me in the chest.  We were all sore but after a week my ribs were still hurting so i went to my clinic to have X-rays, questioning if i might have broken one.  That led to a Chest CT and a diagnosis of Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer with mets to the chest and shoulder.  
I underwent 6 cycles of chemo, then a debunking surgery and three additional cycles of chemo   I achieved remission for approx 5 and a half months before i was found to have 2 metastatic lesions in my brain and more involvement in my abdomen.    
In addition i developed small bowel obstructions on 4 different occasions, the last one resulting in the placement of a permanent G-tube.  
Since Dec 2016 I have been on chemo, first on IV drugs and now on oral drug.
There have been setbacks but thankfully they have been manageable .  
most recently i developed sudden onset visual changes resulting in a hospitalization while trying to determine the cause.  Turns out that one of the initial tumors in my brain (occipital lobe) has started to grow again, causing swelling and pressure  Hopefully will be able to undergo a 3rd gamma knife procedure to again try and kill the damn thing.
