On Thursday, May 4, 2017, a seemingly routine trip to the pediatrician for a Troy who just wasn't feeling that great turned into a phone call that afternoon that he has leukemia. To be specific, Troy has High Risk B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). By Thursday evening we were at Nationwide Children's Hospital and he was receiving blood and platelets. Friday afternoon he had some diagnostic testing done and a port inserted in his chest. By Friday evening he was receiving his first round of chemotherapy. The road ahead is long, but it is a journey with a good ending. He has an incredible outlook so far and a positive spirit.
