We are coming together in prayer, love, hope, and light to support Stella and her family (Mom, Kristen; Dad, Oliver; and big brother, Sebastian) through their journey of healing and recovery.  The Drake family continues to be immensely grateful for their medical care team, family, friends, the Midland University community, and so many others who have come forward with overwhelming support during this difficult and emotional time.

Now for a summary of Stella's story, which has unfolded very quickly and unexpectedly for her and her family:

May 18:   After experiencing some concerning symptoms related to her vision, Stella was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

May 20:  Stella underwent an 8.5 hour surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery proved much more complicated than anticipated, posing multiple challenges, requiring an additional surgeon, and leaving her amazing surgical team uncertain as to prognosis. An additional MRI was recommended.

May 21:  The follow up MRI led the surgeon to believe that most of the tumor had been successfully removed. This was very uplifting news following several grueling days for her family as they waited for answers. Additional information is anticipated from a pathology report in the coming days.

The family will provide updates on Stella's journey  as they are able. Thank you all again so much for your support.
