Welcome to Stacy's CaringBridge website. We are using this resource to keep family and friends updated in one place.

On Monday, January 16th, Stacy found a lump on her breast and was able to get into the doctor that day where they found a 2 inch mass.  She then went to  Iowa Radiology where she was able to get a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy on her left breast and  a lymph node under her left arm.  Stacy was hoping it to be a cyst that just needed draining and was told she would learn the results on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, January 17th, the radiologist called to inform Stacy that she has stage 2 breast cancer and it has spread to her lymph nodes.  The mass is 2 inches in length, is as wide as an egg and is very deep, so they will have to shrink it before they can remove it.  The lymph node is very large as well.

She is slated to meet with the surgeon on Monday where she will learn if the cancer has spread elsewhere and what her treatment plan is to shrink the mass via chemotherapy or radiation.  Once that treatment plan is in place she will be scheduled for a surgical mastectomy.

As you can imagine, Stacy is still in shock and trying to process what is ahead.

We will keep you posted on what's next and how you can help at this site.  In the meantime, please pray for strength for her and her family, as well as, her doctors and caretakers as she begins this uncertain journey ahead.

Your hope and encouragement is appreciated.
